FLORAL DREAMS

Musta on fantastista, että muotimaailmassa sesongit sekoittuvat keskenään enemmän ja enemmän. Enää samettia ja mustaa pitsiä ei löydy ainoastaan syysmallistoista tai kukkaprinttiä kevään vaan voi hankkia just itselleen oman maun (tai fiiliksen) mukaisia vaatteita. Tänä syksynä juurikin kukkaprintti on ollut edustettuna ihailtavan monipuolisesti ja tällä hetkellä mun ihastuksen kohteena ovat erityisesti midi- ja maximekot.

Mä kuulun niihin ihmisiin, jotka eivät erottele talvi- ja kesävaatteita toisistaan vaatekaapissa (voisiko se olla syy siihen, miksi se näyttää aina niin sekaiselta..?) vaan tykkään käyttää niitä pienillä muutoksilla ympäri vuoden. 

Tyylivinkkinä, jos tuntuu että kukkamekko on liian tyttömäinen, riko kokonaisuutta tennareilla tai nilkkureilla. Yhdistä vielä asuun löysä neule ja/tai pue bombertakki seuraksi. Ihanaa uutta viikkoa murut! ♡

I think it's fantastic that in the fashion world the seasons are mixed with each other more and more. No longer velvet and black lace can be found only in autumn collections or floral prints in the spring, but you can buy clothes of your own taste (or vibes) when ever you want. This autumn particularly the floral print has shown an admirable versatility in garments and at the moment I have a huge crush especially on midi and maxi dresses.

I belong to those people who don't separate the winter and the summer clothes in the wardrobe (maybe that's the reason why it looks so messy all the time..?), cause I like to wear them with small changes throughout the year.

Style tip, if you feel that floral dess is too girlish, wear a pair of sneakers or ankle boots with it. Throw on an oversize sweater and/or a bomber jacket and you are ready to go. Wishing you all a good week ahead darlings! ♡

CASUAL CHIC

Mä en tiedä mikä siinä on, miksi vaatteet tekee mut onnelliseksi. Ja mä en nyt tarkoita että ne olisi ainoa asia vaan tyyliin samanlailla, kun joillekin se on leipominen, toisille kalastus, kolmansille urheileminen jne. Mä voin viettää tuntikausia netissä selailemassa eri vaatesivustoja, viimeisimpiä muotinäytöksiä ja inspiroivia street style kuvaajien bongauksia. Hyvänä esimerkkinä käytyämme monessa Rooman luksusbrändin liikkeessä (kirjoittelen myöhemmin siitä sitten) ja sovittaessani mm. Valentionon käsin tehtyjä luomuksia, mä olin kuin taivaassa. Itse asiassa tämän kertaisessa asussani on pari tuliaista kyseiseltä matkalta. :) Mä haluan muuten tähän väliin sanoa, että mulle kalliit merkit edustavat laatua, ei statusta, sitä näkee niin valitettavan paljon ihmisiä, joille ne edustaa ensisijaisesti jälkimmäistä.. Mulle on myös tärkeää, että mä pystyn myös käyttämään niitä tuotteita enkä vaan omistamaan, kuten tämän Guccin collegepaidan, joka menee niin farkkujen, tyllihameen kuin track pantsien kanssa.

Mä aloin kuvaamaan mun asukokonaisuuksia vasta viime keväänä ja nyt oon törmännyt sellaiseen ongelmaan, että tuolla ulkona ei pysty enää kylmyyden takia kuvaamaan kovin pitkään, joten mun pitää miettiä erilaista ratkaisua talveksi. Mutta sillä välin mä haluan toivottaa ihanaa uutta viikkoa ja onko liian aikaista sanoa, myös joulun odotusta! :D

Some people feel happiness when they bake, some when they fishing, others when they exercise etc., for me it's clothes and I don't know why they make me happy. And no, I don't mean that in a "nothing else make me happy" way, but I can spend hours on the internet browsing different clothing sites, latest fashion shows and inspiring street style photgraphers snaps. For example after visiting many luxury brand stores in Rome (I will write about it later) and also fitting Valentino's handcrafted creations, I felt like heaven. Actually in this outfit I have a couple purchases from that trip. :) FYI I just want to say that luxury brands represent a quality for me, not status, unfortunately there is a lot of people whom those brands represent primarily the latter. It's also important for me that I can really wear those products and not just own them, like this Gucci sweatshirt, which goes well with any garment - jeans, tulle skirt, track pants..

 I started to take outfit photos last spring and now I have come across the problem, that the weather is too cold for long photoshoots outdoors, so I have to come up with some other solution. But meanwhile wishing you a great new week and do I dare to say also, happy waiting time for Christmas! :D

FAUX FUR

Mä istuin koneella editoimassa tämänkertaisia asukuviani, kun mun rakas mieheni tuli vilkaisemaan niitä ja totesi: "kato, sulla oli tuollainen kana-asu tällä kertaa" .. kana-asu?? .. Tämä pisti hetkellisesti miettimään, että kuinkakohan paljon mieheni todellisuudessa pyörittelee silmiä mun omasta mielestä ihanille asuvalinnoille? Noh, hän rakastaa mua edelleen ja mun mielestä elämä on liian lyhyt tylsille vaatteille. :D

Tämä takki on edellistä sesonkia, mutta tällä hetkellä saman tyylisiä ja eri väreissä löytyy niin halvemmilta kuin kalliimilta merkeiltä ja paljon näkyy katukuvassa myös lyhytkarvaisia takkeja. Mua hirveästi houkuttaisi ostaa talveksi joku upea pitkä karvatakki, mutta fakta on se, että koska ne on suurimmaksi osaksi tehty tekokuidusta ja me asumme täällä ihanassa pohjolassa, niin mua ei hirveästi huvittaisi saada sähköiskuja läpi talven.

Mulla tulee tänne nyt pieni tauko (mutta ei mun Instagramiin, joten seurailkaa sitä!), koska me lähdetään huomenna Roomaan juhlistamaan mun tulevia synttäreitä ja oh boy, kun mä odotan jo sitä ruokaa, juomaa ja shoppailua! :D Ai niin, mä käyn ennen matkaa eräässä kasvohoidossa, josta kirjoittelen sitten matkan jälkeen. Ihanaa viikonloppua murut! ♡

I was sitting at a computer editing my outfit photos, when my beloved husband caught a glimpse of them and said: "oh, so you had somekind of a chicken outfit this time" .. a chicken outfit?? .. This made me think that how much indeed my hubby rolls his eyes to my outfits which I find gorgeous? Well, he still loves me and I think life is too short to wear boring clothes. :D

My faux fur jacket is from last season, but at the moment it's easy to find similar ones and also in many different colors at every price point. I'm really tempted to buy some long stunning faux fur jacket for winter time, but the fact is that they've made mostly of synthetic fibers and I'm living in Finland (you know, the land of Cold), so I think I would prefer not to get static electricity shocks through the winter time.

I'm taking a short break from posting here (but not in Instagram, so follow me there!), because we are traveling to Rome tomorrow to celebrate my upcoming birthday and I can't wait for that delicious food, wine and of course shopping! :D Have a great weekend loves! ♡

OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS

Ylipolven saappaat on täällä jäädäkseen. Alunperin ylipolven saappaat tulivat suosituiksi ratsastussaappaiksi miehillä 1400-luvulla, koska ne antoivat extra suojaa jaloille ja myöhemmin niistä tuli samoista syistä suositut myös raskaan ratsuväen keskuudessa. Saappaan muokkautuminen naisten muotikappaleeksi alkoi 1962, Balenciagan esitellessä syksyn muotiviikoilla Mancinin suunnittelemaa saapasta, joka peitti juuri ja juuri polven. Seuraavana vuonna Yves Saint Laurentin couture collection esitteli näytöksessään alligaattorin nahasta valmistetun pidemmän version. Tämän jälkeen eri vuosikymmenillä materiaaleina on käytetty niin PVC:a kuin sukkakangasta ja muoto on vaihdellut tiukista superpitkistä löysiin ja kurttuisiin.

Vaikka saappaita on markkinoilla pilvin pimein, niin mun on ollut itseasiassa vaikeaa löytää jaloilleni istuvaa mallia, koska joko ne on ollut liian tiukat (mulla kun löytyy tota pohjetta) tai sitten kävellessä ne on ruvennut valumaan alaspäin (mikään ei ole ärsyttävämpää kuin kiskoa vartta koko ajan ylöspäin). Mutta nyt on vihdoinkin löytynyt sopivat! Jalat mahtuvat sisään ilman veritulpan aiheuttamaa vaaraa ja kangas on tarpeeksi paksu ja jäykkä pysyäkseen yli polven. Mä ihastuin tähän malliin niin paljon, että multa löytyy nämä jo kahdessa värissä - nudena ja mustana. :D Saappaat on helppo yhdistää mihin tahansa asuun: luo boheemi look yhdistämällä ne läpinäkyvän kukkamaximekon kanssa tai rennompi hupparin ja blaiserin kanssa, kunhan muistaa nyrkkisäännön, jos haluaa välttää näyttämästä "halvalta" - älä yhdistä niitä tiukan ja paljastavan asun kanssa. Tyylikästä viikkoa darlings!

Over-the-knee boots are here to stay. Otk boots first became popular as riding boots for men in the 15th century, cause they gave an extra protection and later heavy cavalry used them for same reasons too. The adoption of the boots as a fashion item for women began in 1962, when Balenciaga's fall collection featured a tall boot by Mancini that just covered the knee and the following year, Yves Saint Laurent's couture collection included thigh-length alligator skin boots. After this in different decades range has been everything from PVC to sock material and from super long to slouchy shape.

Although there's a lot of different otk boot types available, I found it difficult to find a suitable model for me, either because they have been too tight (I have thick calves tho) or when walking the shaft is rolling down (nothing is more annoying than pull them up all the time). But now I finally found them! My legs fit in without the fear of embolism and the fabric is thick and stiff enough to stay over the knee. I liked this boots so much that I have them in two colors - nudes and blacks. :D These boots are easy to combine with any kind of outfit: create a boho look by combining them with a transparent flower maxidress or more relaxed look with hoodie and blazer, as long as you remember the rule of thumb if you want to avoid looking "cheap" - don't combine them with the tight and revealing garment. PEARLS ARE BACK

'Helmet ovat aina sopivia' - Jackie Kennedy. Kun tämä (feikki) helmitrendi alkoi, mä jäin miettimään että onko tämä kiva vai onko tämä ihan typerä, koska faktahan on se että tällaiset muovihelmet menettävät kiiltoa ja väriä niin nopeasti varsinkin vaatteissa (mä päätin muuten olla sortumatta sille alueelle) ja pahimillaan helmen irtoaminen pesussa voi hajottaa koko pesukoneen. Joo, mä tiedän että niitä vaatteita voi pestä myös käsin, mutta mä kuulun niihin ihmisiin, jotka haluavat käyttää aikoinaan nerokkaiden ihmisten keksimiä koneita.. :D

Noh, sinä aikana kun mä pohdin tätä helmiasiaa nämä nilkkurit myytiin loppuun ja yhtäkkiä ainoa asia mikä mun päässä pyöri oli "ihan sama mitä niille helmille tapahtuu, mä haluan saada noi kengät!" :D No mutta onneksi kenkiä tuli myöhemmin myyntiin lisää ja mä sain itselleni omat. Yleensä tollaiset nilkkurit saattaa olla vähän raskaan näköiset, joten pienet yksityiskohdat kuten helmet ja soljet keventävät ulkonäköä ja yhdistettynä naiselliseen mekkoon koko lookista tulee heti paljon kiinnostavampi. Upeaa viikkoa murut!

'Pearls are always appropriate' - Jackie Kennedy. As soon as this (faux) pearl trend began, I couldn't decide whether it's nice or is it silly, cause the fact that those plastic beads lose their shine and color so quickly especially in clothes (btw I decided to ditch that range) and in worst case scenario a pearl that has come off can brake entire washing machine. Yes, I know that clothes can also be washed by hand, but I'm one of those people who want to use machines invented by genius at one time.. :D

Well, when I was thinking about this pearl thing, these ankle boots were sold out and suddenly the only thing what I could think of was "I don't care about what happend to those pearls, I want these shoes!" :D Fortunately they were back in stock later and I got my own pair. Usually, this kind of boots can tend to look a little bit heavy, so the small details like pearls and buckles lighten the look and combined with a feminine dress, the whole outfit becomes so much more interesting. RED SOCK BOOTS

Oletteko huomannut, että joka sesongissa on joku trendi, jota pusketaan niin pahasti, että se pilataan täysin jossakin vaiheessa? Mä olen tällä kertaa saanut allergisen reaktion ns. Glen Plaid ruutukuvioon jota on takeissa, paidoissa, housuissa, blazereissa, mekoissa, hameissa ja jopa kengissä! Älkää ymmärtäkö väärin, itse kuvio on tosi kiva, mutta tällä hetkellä sitä on liikaa. Siis mä en edes ehtinyt hyppää siihen junaan, kun olin jo kyllästynyt siihen.. ehkä mä ostan jonkun ko. kuvioisen vaatteen ja vaan odotan, milloin pahin hype on ohi, jotta voin ruveta käyttämään sitä, ha ha. :D

Yksi tämän sesongin trendeistä, josta mä (en vielä) ole saanut yliannostusta on punainen väri. Mun mielestä se toimii parhaiten tehostevärinä ja nämä punaiset sukkanilkkurit on täydelliset minkä tahansa vaatteen kanssa! Tämä look olisi toiminut vallan mainiosti ihan pelkästään paita ja housut yhdistelmänä noiden kenkien varastaessa kaiken huomion, mutta te tunnette mut.. mä rakastan yhdistää usein jotakin omaperäistä asuun ja tällä kertaa se oli musta läpinäkyvä pitsihame. Ihanaa viikkoa kaikille! :)

Have you noticed that every season there is some trend which is pushing so much, that in the end it's completely ruined? At the moment I have an allergic reaction to Glen Plaid pattern which is spread all over jackets, shirts, pants, blazers, dresses, skirts and even shoes! Don't misunderstand me, the pattern itself is really nice, but for now it's just overwhelming. I didn't even had a chance to get on board with that trend when I was already letting it go.. maybe I'll buy some plaid garment in my closet and start to use it when the worst hype is over, ha ha. :D

In one of this season's trend, which I haven't (yet) received an overdose, is a red color. I think it works best as a pop of color and these red sock boots look perfect paired with any garment! This outfit would have worked also just with plain shirt and jeans combination, cause those shoes are really stealing the whole attention, but you know me.. I love to add often some unique detail and this time it was a black transparent lace skirt. Wishing you all a wonderful week! :)

IT'S LAYERING TIME

Syksy on nurkan takana ja vaikka mä rakastan lämpöä ja vaaleita iltoja kesässä, niin syksy on ehdottomasti mulle se mieluisin sesonki. Siinä on jotain kauhean romanttista, kun ulkona ilma muuttuu kirpeäksi, illat pimenevät ja kynttilöitä sytytellään. Syksyisin sovitaan tapaamisia rakkaiden ystävien kanssa kotoisissa kahviloissa, kääriydytään pehmeisiin neuleisiin ja nautitaan lasillisesta hyvää viiniä. 

Myös pukeutumisessa syksy on mielenkiintoisinta aikaa ja avainasemassa on kerrospukeutuminen. Yhdistelemällä eri tyylejä ja materiaaleja yhteen saa loputtomasti aikaiseksi kiinnostavia asukokonaisuuksia esim. tämän hetken track pants trendi on täysin yhdistettävissä korkokenkiin ja kynähameeseen. Kerrospukeutumisella saa myös pitkitettyä kesäisempien vaatteiden käyttöä. Kokeilkaa rohkeasti uusia asioita ja mahtavaa alkavaa syksyä kaikille! :)

Autumn is around the corner and even though I love warm days and white nights in summer the autumn is definitely my favorite season. There is something terribly romantic as the weather becomes crisp, the evenings get darker and the candles are burning everywhere. It's time to meet dear friends in cozy cafes, wrapping up in soft sweaters and enjoying a glass of good wine.

Also in dressing autumn is the most interesting time and layering is the key. By combining different styles and materials, one can create endless outfit possibilities, for example the trend of the moment the track pants are perfectly combineable with heels and pencil skirt. Layering is also an easy way to extend the life of your summer wardrobe. Try boldly new things and have an amazing upcoming autumn everyone! :)
